September 30, 2021 City Meetings th Please Note: there are no meetings the Week of October 4. Council Update Fall Recycling Day, a Huge Success. The Fall Recycling Day Event was held Saturday, September 25, at the new public works facility. Event Coordinator, Chris Anderson said there was plenty of space at the new facility for the event. Anderson said he could not have done it without the help of public works and public safety staff. “Public Works staff did a tremendous job with set up and take down for the event and were a huge help in making this event run smoothly,” Anderson said. “We also couldn’t have done this without our police reserves. They help vehicles move through the site efficiently and politely turn those away that show up after event close.” Anderson estimated that nearly 500 people participated in the fall recycling event. Ramsey Fire Department Hosts Two Open Houses. Fire Station 1, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Tuesday, October 5, 5:30 to 8:00 pm. Fire Station 2, 5650 Alpine Drive NW, Thursday, October 7, 5:30 to 8:00 pm. Attached to the Weekly Update is the Ramsey Fire Department Open Houses Flyer. Recreation Updates:  Ramsey Residents Day on the Farm o Celebrate the fall season with an afternoon of festivities at the Pearson Family Farm - right here in Ramsey on Saturday, October 9, from 12:00-6:00pm. o Bring your friends and family out for some pumpkin decorating, a jump in the popcorn pit, face painting, antique tractors display, corn maze, hay rides and more! o Pumpkins will be available for purchase. o Volunteers are needed for this event. If interested in a volunteer opportunity, contact Betty at 612-272-5369.  Drive-in Movie o Enjoy a showing of The Wizard of Oz from the comfort of your vehicle on Thursday, October 21, at 6:30 pm – Open for parking at 5:15 pm, at The Draw park ballfield in Ramsey. Concessions will be available for purchase. o This is a free event, but registration is required as space is limited. The City of Ramsey is hiring for the following positions:  Rink Attendants – Temporary 10-week positions starting 12/17/2021. Rate of pay is $10.33 per hour. Maintain the warming houses during the skating season through responsible, safety-minded work. Must be 16 years old by 12/09/2021. These positions are open until 11:59 pm on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.
