Councilmember Strommen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION # 05-08-251 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT ANOKA COUNTY PERFORM A MARKET <br />ANALYSIS FOR AFFORDABLE WORKFORCE AND SENIOR HOUSING AND A <br />STUDY OF REDEVELOPMENT POTENTIAL IN THE AREA OF THE SANITARY <br />LANDFILL <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is interested in determining the need for workforce and <br />senior housing in the newly developing Town Center; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan specifically states a policy of working with local <br />and regional housing agencies to identify low and moderate income housing needs; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey Town Center Master Plan indicates the desire to include a wide <br />range of income levels and unit sizes within the Ramsey Town Center; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Anoka County HRA has indicated the desire to explore the potential for <br />redevelopment of the land in the area of the sanitary landfill owned by the Minnesota Pollution <br />Control Agency. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council requests that Anoka County perform a Market <br />Analysis for workforce and senior housing in the Ramsey Town Center. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council requests that Anoka County perform an assessment of <br />the redevelopment potential for the area surrounding the sanitary landfill currently <br />owned by the MPCA. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Councilmember Pearson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Alan Pearson <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br /> <br />Resolution #05-08-251 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
