River Overlay Districts for Suberbowl, located at 6720 Riverdale Drive NW. She distributed <br />comments l'rom neighbors Dan and Lisa Jacobs, who are unable to attend this meeting. <br /> <br />Assistant Community Development Director Frolik explained that on April 1, 2004 Mike <br />Anderson, owner of Superbowl, was granted a variance to impervious surface areas within the <br />(:ritical River and Wild and Scenic River Overlay Districts for a building expansion and <br />additional customer parking areas. She indicated that variance has become null and void because <br />it was not initiated or utilized within one year of approval, as stipulated in City Code. She stated <br />that Mr. Andcrson has resubmitted a request for a variance to the impervious surface area <br />restrictions. She noted the requested variance is the same as the 2004 request in terms of total <br />impcrvicms area, however the cmTent request only includes additional customer parking areas <br />m~d no building expansion. <br /> <br />Assistant Community Development Director Frolik stated the applicant has submitted a Grading <br />and 15'osion Control Plan that proposes to modify the drainage patterns for the site. She <br />inclicatcd at the present time, all stormwater runoff flows overland across paved surfaces to <br />stormwatcr catch basins located in either Ebony or Dolomite Streets. She stated this <br />development proposes to collect runoff from the site and direct it into a stormwater pond to be <br />located on thc northwest corner of the site. She indicated Mr. Anderson has agreed to work with <br />thc four conditions requested from the neighbors. <br /> <br />Public llcaring <br /> <br />Mike Anderson stated he has no problem with the neighbors concerns. He noted that the last <br />time he tall<ed with Dan Jacobs he had said there would not be any parking in the back, however <br />m)w that lhey need the pond it really reduces the space for parking. He indicated he would like <br />to have parking in thc back, but that would be the last place people would park. He stated he <br />thinks their worry is lights going into their house, but he would be willing to make improvements <br />to thc Jacobs' fence if it is a problem. <br /> <br />Board Member Shepherd asked what kind of fence is there now. <br /> <br />Assistant Community Development Director Frolik indicated it is a wood privacy fence. <br /> <br />M~'. Anderson indicated the last time this was approved it was with parking, with the <br />understanding that if headlights were a problem he would make the fence higher. <br /> <br />Assistant Com~nunity Development Director Frolik asked if parking could be restricted by the <br />~eighbor's home and only allow parking in the southwest corner. <br /> <br />Mr. Anderson stated that would likely be possible, and reiterated that he does not think people <br />will park there except as a last resort. <br /> <br />Chairpcrson Nixt asked if there is parking there now. <br /> <br />Mt'.
