two (2) years of the time of the EMPLOYEE'S employee's layoff before any new <br />Employee EMPLOYEE is hired. <br />7.4 Annual leave shall be selected according to the following procedure: <br />EmployeesEMPLOYEES shall submit first and second choices for continuous vacation <br />periods by March 1 of each year. By April 1 the City shall approve Employee's <br />EMPLOYEE'S first and second choices based on seniority. Senior <br />E-FfipleyeesEMPLOYEES shall have preference over junior -ggiployeesEMPLOYEES <br />for their first choice. Then, senior Efflii-leyeesEMPLOYEES shall have preference in <br />their second choice. In no event shall senior Employee's EMPLOYEE'S second choice <br />supersede the first choice of junior E-HiployeesEMPLOYEES unless the senior <br />EinployeesEMPLOYEES' first choice was not granted. Senior <br />employeesEMPLOYEES shall have preference for shift bid at the start of each calendar <br />year. Holidays, when approved, shall be selected on the basis of seniority up until (10) <br />days prior to the requested day off. Thereafter, holidays when approved, will be <br />granted on a first -come first -served basis. <br />ARTICLE 8: DISCIPLINE <br />8.1 The EmployerEMPLOYER will discipline EmployeesEMPLOYEES for just cause <br />only. Discipline will be in <br />one or more of the following forms: <br />a) Oral reprimand; <br />b) Written reprimand; <br />c) Suspension; <br />d) Demotion; or <br />e) Discharge <br />8.2 Suspensions, demotions and discharges will be in written form. <br />8.3 Written reprimands, notices of suspension and notices of discharge which are to <br />become part of an Employee's EMPLOYEE'S personnel file shall be read and <br />acknowledge by signature of the EmployeeEMPLOYEE. EmployeesEMPLOYEES <br />and LELS shall receive a copy of such reprimands and/or notices. <br />8.4 EmployeesEMPLOYEES may examine their own individual personnel files at <br />reasonable times under the direct supervision of the Employer. <br />8.5 A five (5) day (regularly scheduled consecutive work days) suspension, without pay, <br />will precede any discharge order, except for those employeesEMPLOYEES who are <br />defined as Veterans pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Annotated 197.46. <br />8.6 An Employee EMPLOYEE will not be questioned concerning an investigation of <br />disciplinary action against that Employee EMPLOYEE unless said Employee <br />8 <br />
