Ramsey has significant undeveloped land and is identified as an emerging suburban edge <br />community. There are no large freight traffic generators or intermodal facilities within the City. Most <br />freight passes through Ramsey on trips to/from and through the Twin Cities. The Ramsey Transit Station <br />for the NorthStar railway is in proximity to Hwy 10. <br />Look to Future <br />Like the other cities in the area, Ramsey is a growing community, anticipating an increased population of <br />39,150 living among 13,500 households and providing 8,400 jobs by 2040. Ramsey has significant <br />development planned north and south of TH 10 near the Mississippi River according to the Future Land <br />Use Plan. The COR is a 320-acre master -planned community located adjacent to the Northstar <br />Commuter Rail Station (The COR plus surrounding developable area is over 400 acres). This is aimed to <br />provide a destination for retail and access to commuter -rail transit. <br />The city is planning for an extension of Armstrong Boulevard to serve as future river crossing to Dayton <br />and the Plan mentions that both cities are choosing to protect corridor right-of-way for this <br />alignment/river crossing.
