Voting Yes: Mayor Kuzma, Councilmembers Woestehoff, Musgrove, Heineman, <br />Howell, Riley, and Specht. Voting No: None. <br />7.05: Consider Hiring a New Deputy City Administrator/Community Development <br />Director <br /> <br />Administrative Services Director Colleen Lasher reviewed the proposed hiring of Mr. Brian <br />Hagen as Deputy City Administrator/ Community Development Director, a position which has <br />been vacant since June 22, 2021. A nationwide search was conducted, and 19 candidates were <br />selected for initial interviews. Two finalists were selected after second interviews were <br />conducted, and Mr. Brian Hagen was selected as the final candidate. Mr. Hagen passed all pre- <br />employment testing, and his position will be subject to a 1-year probationary period. <br /> <br />Administrative Services Director Lasher thanked City Engineer Westby for serving as Interim <br />Community Development Director, and Finance Director Lund for serving as Interim Deputy City <br />Administrator. <br /> <br />Administrative Services Director Lasher stated City Staff recommends the hiring of Brian Hagen <br />effective on or near November 1, 2021. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Howell, seconded by Councilmember Specht, to hire Mr. Brian <br />Hagen as Deputy City Administrator/Community Development Director Effective on or near <br />November 1, 2021, At $53.82 Per Hour Which Is Step 2 of the 2021 Pay Scale, with a Credit of <br />5 Vacation Days. <br /> <br />Further discussion: <br /> <br />City Council / September 28, 2021 <br />Page 15 of 18 <br /> <br />
