Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to adopt Resolution #05- <br />05-260 supporting the City's application for funds to the Federal CMAQ grant program. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Strommen requested staff to look into bike lockers to be <br />located at the parking ramp. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Elvig, Jeffrey, Olson, <br />Pearson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Mayor Gamec directed staff to obtain information including costs and taxing <br />for the Metro Transit buses. Councilmember Elvig suggested staff also obtain information from <br />the County regarding interim bus service from city to city. Mayor Gamec requested staff to also <br />obtain information fi'om the Anoka Traveler for service between areas such as the Anoka <br />Industrial Park, the Ramsey Industrial Park, and Ramsey Town Center. <br /> <br />Case#16: Report from Personnel Committee <br /> <br />1) Ratification of Appointment of Paid On-Call Fire Fighters <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson indicated there was a recruitment process held earlier this <br />year to hire six additional paid on-call fire fighters. At this time staff is recommending the <br />membership with the Ramsey Fire Department be granted to the following candidates on the date <br />indicated: <br /> <br />Douglas Olcjnicak <br />Johll Atchison <br />Robert Moser <br />Kirk Hughes <br />Kelly Miller <br />Christopher Hanson <br /> <br />July 20, 2005 <br />July 20, 2005 <br />July 20, 2005 <br />July 20, 2005 <br />July 20, 2005 <br />August 10, 2005 <br /> <br />2) Authorization to begin the Recruitment Process for a Parks Lead Person <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson reviewed that on December 14, 2004 the City Council <br />approved a resolution creating a Utilities Division within their Public Works Department by <br />moving two Maintenance Workers from their current division(s) to the newly created Utilities <br />Division. As a result of this reorganization, Parks Lead, Mr. John Nelson, was appointed to the <br />Utilities l~ead position. At this time staff is requesting authorization to fill the Parks Lead <br />position left vacant by Mr. Nelson. <br /> <br />3) Consider Ending Probationary Period for Building Inspector <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson indicated Steve Burnham was hired as a Building Inspector <br />on January 12, 2005. Mr. Burnham has successfully completed the required six-month <br />probationary period and staff recommends that Mr. Burnham be retained as the regular, full-time <br />Building Inspector. <br /> <br />City Council / August 9, 2005 <br /> Page 19 of 25 <br /> <br /> <br />
