Councihncmber Cook introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #05-08-260 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE CITY OF RAMSEY'S APPLICATION FOR FUNDS <br />FROM THE FEDERAL CONGESTION MITIGATION AIR QUALITY PROGRAM <br />(CMAQ) GRANT PROGRAM ADMINISTERED BY THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL <br />TO PURCHASE TWO TRANSIT BUSES AND CONSTRUCTION ADDITIONAL PARK <br />& RIDE STALLS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has developed a park and ride facility and a transit <br />station as part of the Ramsey Town Center Development; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has developed Ramsey Town Center as a transit <br />orientcd development with a transit station and park and ride facility for use with the Northstar <br />Commutcr Coach transit service; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the construction of the transit station and park and ride facility creates a <br />highly visible and accessible facility that will help reduce traffic congestion and air pollution not <br />only fi~r the Ramsey area but also for the surrounding region; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Northstar Commuter Coach Service is at capacity and the purchase of <br />the two transit buses and construction of additional park and ride stalls will provide needed <br />capacity to the system; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey endorses the application submittal to the Metropolitan <br />(;ouncil for Federal funding of two buses and construction of additional park and ride stalls. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />ILAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />~l'he motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />t.;lvi g and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councihnember Cook <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councihnember Olson <br />Councilmember Pearson <br />Councilmember Strommen <br /> <br />and the lbllowing voted against: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #05-08-260 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
