Councihncmber Cook introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #05-08-260 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE CITY OF RAMSEY'S APPLICATION FOR FUNDS FROM THE FEDERAL CONGESTION MITIGATION AIR QUALITY PROGRAM (CMAQ) GRANT PROGRAM ADMINISTERED BY THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL TO PURCHASE TWO TRANSIT BUSES AND CONSTRUCTION ADDITIONAL PARK & RIDE STALLS WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has developed a park and ride facility and a transit station as part of the Ramsey Town Center Development; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has developed Ramsey Town Center as a transit orientcd development with a transit station and park and ride facility for use with the Northstar Commutcr Coach transit service; and WHEREAS, the construction of the transit station and park and ride facility creates a highly visible and accessible facility that will help reduce traffic congestion and air pollution not only fi~r the Ramsey area but also for the surrounding region; and WHEREAS, the Northstar Commuter Coach Service is at capacity and the purchase of the two transit buses and construction of additional park and ride stalls will provide needed capacity to the system; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey endorses the application submittal to the Metropolitan (;ouncil for Federal funding of two buses and construction of additional park and ride stalls. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ILAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: ~l'he motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember t.;lvi g and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec Councihnember Cook Councilmember Elvig Councihnember Olson Councilmember Pearson Councilmember Strommen and the lbllowing voted against: None RESOLUTION #05-08-260 Page 1 of 2
