Base needs analysis were performed for both the City Hall and <br />Police l)epartment, prelitninary estimates have been developed, and Council has authorized the <br />design to proceed. A Facilities Committee was created last year and the Committee has been <br />working with the consultants throughout the design phases. The Committee reviewed past <br />di.scussions concerning the possibility of an addition to the current City Hall facility or new <br />construction in the Town Center site. At a ·recent work session, it was noted that it was far more <br />advantageous to 'build a new facility on the Town Center site than ·build an addition on the <br />current City Hall campus. During a work session on January 19, 2005, the City Council directed <br />staff to place an item on the Council· agenda that would provide specific direction for the <br />Municipal Center project. He advised the motion before the Council is to direct staff to proceed <br />with the Municipal Center project on the Ramsey Town Center site, and to further direct staff to <br />make a fbrmal request of the Economic Development Authority to initiate the bonding process <br />which will be a lease revenue bond, and further to direct staff to continue to provide clarification <br />to fiscal impact revenue projections as to how they relate to the anticipated expenditures of the <br />Ralnsey Town Center Project and the Municipal Center Project, prior to bonding and bid letting <br />of' the project. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Pearson, to direct staff to <br />pr~ceed with the Municipal Center project on the Ramsey Town Center site, and to further direct <br />staff to make a formal request of the Economic Development Authority to initiate the bonding <br />process which will be a lease revenue bond, and further to direct staff to continue to provide <br />clarification to fiscal impact revenue projections as to how they relate to the anticipated <br /> <br />City Council/January 25, 2005 <br /> Page 19 of 24 <br /> <br /> <br />
