Voting No: None. 4) Consider Proposal to Study and Address a Potential Floodplain Zoning Violation Assistant Public Works Director Olson explained in a May 12, 2005 letter from Mr. David .qchcim o1' FI?;MA, the City was made aware of a possible violation of floodplain regulations. 'l'hc City met with Mr. Tom Hovey and Ms. Ceil Strauss of the Minnesota Department of Natural }~csot,-ccs on June 27, 2005 to discuss this particular matter as well as general floodplain zoning implementation procedures. It was noted that the building permit was issued on the same day as lho I'ooling inspection was conducted for the residence in November of 1987. It would appear thai thc fill would have had to be in place prior to City inspection of the site, possibly for some time. Staff has requested a proposal from Polaris Group Inc. to assist in resolving this issue. l:uncting I'or this work is proposed to be from the Storm Water Utility. Voting No: None. 5) Receive Petition for Extension of Sewer and Water Service Assistant I'ublic Works Director Olson stated staff received a petition for the extension of sewer and water on July 8, 2005. The petition involves prope~ties along Ramsey Boulevard in the area o/' Alpine I)rivc and 152'd Avenue. The next step would be to prepare a feasibility study outlini~g thc costs, proposed assessments, schedule, etc. The recommendation of the Public Worlqs (:ommittee was that the petition be received, and after City Attorney review as to form and ctmtent of the petition, order preparation of the feasibility study considering the extension of urban services to those petitioning properties.
