In addition to providing sewer and water service to the <br />southern 400 feet of this street segment, improvements associated with this project include: <br />looping thc watermain between 137th Avenue and Riverdale Drive to improve fire flow <br />capabilities and water system reliability; narrowing the roadway which is excessively wide; <br />providing a bituminous overlay on the street because of the poor condition of the pavement; and <br />adding concrete curb and gutter; and adding a five foot sidewalk on the east side of the street. <br />rIhe City Council ordered that plans and specifications be prepared for this work on May 24, <br />2005. l'ortions of these improvements will be financed through assessment to the benefited <br />property owners in accordance with City code and Minnesota Statutes Chapter 429. The petition received requested <br />that thc Wclcome's Road be considered for improvements consisting of grading and bituminous <br />paving. The City Council ordered that plans and specifications be prepared for this work on June <br />14, 2005. l'ortions of these improvements will be financed through assessment to the benefited <br />property owners in accordance with City Code and Minnesota Statutes Chapter 429.
