MEMO <br /> <br />Case # 4 <br /> <br />I)ATE: <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />September 1, 2005 <br /> <br />Economic Development Authority (EDA) <br /> <br />Scan Sullivan <br /> <br />Staff Update <br /> <br />New Business Prospects: City Council Approved the Development Agreement for LH ROAD, <br />I,I~C dba Wildlife Research Center. at the August 9 meeting. Construction for this project should <br />commence this lhll and be complete early next year. Staff has also received good news from <br />I:larber Industries. It appears as if this company will be entering into a development agreement <br />with the City to construct a 40,000 SF building on theSE comer of Bunker Lake Boulevard and <br />Sunwood Drive late this fhll or early next year. In addition to landing these large pi'ospects, Staff <br />is very close to coming to an agreement with a 30,000 SF rigging company to locate in the <br />Gateway North Industrial Park No. 5. <br /> <br />Business Grand Openings;. Nothing to rePort at this time. <br /> <br />Business Communication Initiatives: Nothing new to report at this time. <br /> <br /> / <br /> <br />Community Revitalization Projects <br /> <br />14.040 Azurite St NW: Construction is underway and should be complete by years end. Martin <br />EDM will be owning and occupying a 10,000 SF building. <br /> <br />14 140 Azurite ST NW: Construction is underway fOr the Bertolas and Pekula Accounting firm. <br />They plan to own and occupy the 12,000 two story office facility that will be complete by years <br />end. There will be office lease opportunities from 1,000 to 5,000. Square feet. <br /> <br />6030 Bm~cr Lake Boulevard NW: The old farm house and metal pole building has been <br />removed fi'om the site. The property is being marketed to interested parties including Zero-Zone <br />who is contemplating an expansion.. Zero-Zone is currently going through an oWnership change <br />amd when it is complete they intend to purchase this site for a future expansion. <br /> <br />14280 Sunfish Lake Blvd NW: Currently the City is looking at dedicating a portion of this site <br />l?or part of a comprehensive drainage plan. The area of. the site will be between 1 and 2 acres. <br />There is no updated information for the details of the drainage plan. <br /> <br />Miscellaneous: <br /> <br />Business Network Meeting: Planning for the next Business Network meeting needs to take <br />place soon. The EDA needs to determine a date for the next meeting as well as a format for the <br />meeting. <br /> <br />P19 <br /> <br /> <br />
