Business Spotlight: The Artery Studio
and Glass Arts
In 2004, Krista Gordhamer stepped into her ? rst stained glass class at Anoka Ramsey
Community College. Little did she know, it would ignite a ? re within her to pursue a
career in art and business.
“I’ve loved it ever since,” Gordhamer said, smiling. “My biggest goal as an artist is to
be unique and unconventional in my designs.”
And unconventional she was. From colorful suncatchers, to geometric glass plant art,
Gordhamer takes pride in her creations made from an uncommon medium.
Wanting to share her gi? s with the community, Gordhamer opened her ? rst art
studio, ? e Artery Studio and Glass Arts, here in Ramsey in October of last year. Prior to
that, she had been working out of her home in Coon Rapids for the past ten years.
“My dad has had his business located in Ramsey for 20 years and there was an opening in the same offi ce building
that ? t my needs for a physical studio,” she said. So, Gordhamer jumped at the opportunity.
“Now, I'm focusing on beginner projects for those who've wanted to try stained glass without the commitment of
purchasing tools and supplies,” she said. “I also prep all the projects for the highest possibility of success.”
? e Artery Studio and Glass Arts specializes in traditional, copper foil stained glass and mosaic classes for beginners
to advanced levels. Both public and private classes are off ered. ? e Artery Studio and Glass Arts is located at 6957 High-
way 10, Suite 101 in Ramsey. For hours or more information, contact the studio at 763-443-4689 or kristagordhamer@
gmail.com.
Ramsey Resident • January/February 20227
