Al,ARMS SOG DISCUSSION <br /> <br />· A COmlnittce met to discuss an Alarms SOG and will have something in writing soon. <br /> <br />FEMA (;RANT UPDATE <br /> <br />· 'Ibc l)cpartment has spent $57,521 of the 2001 grant with $6,753 left to spend. <br /> <br />Thc new grant will focus on Fire Operations and Safety. Suggested items in this area are a <br />complete change out of SCBA equipment, thermal imaging camera and a mobile cascade <br />system, which can be used by neighboring communities and counties. <br /> <br />()fliccr Strcich would like firefighters to review and critique the grant application. FEMA <br />first l'unds basic equipment then obsolete and non-compliant equipment and especially like it <br />when equipment would serve several communities. <br /> <br />FI RE RELIEF BUSINESS <br /> <br />· Article IV, Section 4D(4) needs to be amended stating active service in terms of months <br /> rather than weeks. <br /> <br />· Assistant Chief Itoxter passed out the form for amendment to each flrefighter; they were to <br /> vote, sign the form and turn it in, <br /> <br />SI'ECIAL RECOGNITION <br /> <br />· Firctightcrs Engh and Smith did an excellent job providing safety using flares at the accident <br /> on l lighway #10. <br /> <br />· Officer Lcmm for his time and effort in building the grill. <br /> <br />· Firclightcrs Ostrum and Smith for their participation at a daycare Fire Prevention <br /> demonstration. <br /> <br />It is time to sign up for softball. It is $25 and will be Monday nights. <br /> <br />I ,i fk~ Fitness would like the Department to takeover their employee CPR classes. Firefighter <br />(;ncrrc and Firefighter Gerdes might be able to teach a March 23~d class. <br /> <br />UPCOMING EVENTS <br /> <br />The City will sponsor a Safety Camp for 5th grade students July 16 and 17, 2002. It is in the <br />planning stages at this time. Five cities will pool their efforts.
