PATCI! <br /> <br />There is no new information on the patches. Officer Streich will try to have the new <br />examples at the business meeting so a decision can be made and patches ordered. <br /> <br />There are no patches at this time. The Department will hold off on ordering patches until a <br />new design is chosen. The Las Vegas Department needs a patch when they arrive. <br /> <br />NEW FIREFIGHTERS <br /> <br />Agility Testing has been completed. A decision should be made this week with City Council <br />receiving the recommendation on April 23rd and firefighters starting with the Department on <br />May 8th. <br /> <br />· ()fficcr Streich will do an inventory of pagers to make sure there are enough for the new <br /> fircfighters and to have three or four extra on hand. <br /> <br />ARI EI~ LADDER TRUCK COMMITTEE <br /> <br />· Thc committee will make a visit to St. Paul Fire Department during the week. <br /> <br />· Thc l)cpartment has received enough information from other departments regarding specs for <br /> thc Ariel Ladder Truck that a visit to Indianapolis is not necessary. <br /> <br />Officers discussed waterways, pump capacity, height of ladder, material for ladder, rear vs. <br />mid mount and number of people the bucket and truck should hold. These options will be <br />included in the specs. Specs will also have the truck meeting NFPA requirements. <br /> <br />· '['hc specs will include a fully equipped the truck. The equipment would be itemized for the <br /> I)epartment to prioritize its needs. <br /> <br />· 'l'hc committee is hoping to have the specs completed to send with the Council packets on <br /> April 19~h. <br /> <br />· Thc l)cpartment will visit some of the taller buildings in the City to see how the truck would <br /> bc utili×cd at these locations. <br /> <br />Fl lie PREVENTION/INVESTIGATION UPDATE <br /> <br />· Officer Streich will be finalizing the current inspections. <br /> <br />Thc City will sponsor a Safety Camp for 120 - 4th grade students July 16 and 17, 2002. <br />There will be sessions on such topics as guns, fire, water, electricity, bike and animal safety. <br />It will be held at the Boy Scout Camp.
