FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />'I hc Ramscy Fire Department conducted the monthly officers meeting on Thursday, September <br />12, 2002 at Ramsey Fire Station #2, 15050 Armstrong Blvd. NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />OFFICI,;RS PRESENT: <br /> <br />Chief Kapler <br />Assistant Chief Hoxter <br />Officer Lewandowski <br />Officer Streich <br />Officer Weiss <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chict' Kapler called the officers meeting of the Ramsey Fire Department to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Duty o Iliccr for September, Officer Weiss; October, Officer Streich; November, Officer Lemm <br />and I)cccmber, Officer Lewandowski. <br /> <br />Thc next officers meeting will be Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />SAFETY CONCERNS <br /> <br />· l:lack tip lines are needed. <br /> <br />l)riving is a major safety concern, the two top causes of firefighter deaths are vehicle <br />accidents and heart attacks to and from the scene. At this time officers don't think a <br />commercial drivers license is necessary, because that doesn't guarantee a safe driver. Chief <br />[<apler will discuss with Officer Lemm a drill that emphasizes safe driving, such as how to <br />handle a truck that has 3000 gallons of water on it. It is possible the Department could use <br />thc instructors that train the drivers at Connexus Energy. <br /> <br />STATI()N CLEAN UP <br /> <br />· Firclighter Ternus's team has station cleanup this month. <br /> <br />I'ATCH <br /> <br />· 'l'hc patch is approximately two weeks out. <br /> <br />NEW FIREFIGHTERS <br /> <br />· ()filters reviewed how the new firefighters are doing. Progress is good. <br /> <br /> <br />
