MONTltLY REPORTS

7 7? A/NIN(;

()liSter l,cmm reviewed the Training report.

· January training will include O2/Respiratory Systems, Physicals/Fit Testing and Major
Maintenance. Physicals and Fit Testing will begin at noon and firefighters may attend when
awfilablc.

° Mandatory drills for February and March are SCBA Trailer, February 26th and Agility
~l'esting, March 26th. Mandatory drills for 2003 were reviewed and discussed by the officers.

· Officers proposed drill days off. Two suggestions were giving two drills off chosen by the
th'cfighter throughout the year or not scheduling drills on July 2nd, September 3rd, November
26th, December 24th and December 31st. Officers will discuss these options at February's
officer meeting.

° i"irc[ighters Block and Gordon have completed probation and will go before City Council on
January 14th. The next group of firefighters will complete probation in May. All have
passed Fire Fighter I and there are only two with attendance issues.

· Officers discussed getting this group of probationary firefighters some on the scene training
experience. There will be two houses available for live bums and officers discussed having
one of the burlls just for the red dots.

· This first quarter the Department will take a proactive approach to preparing the new
fircfighters by dividing the group some of the drill nights to red dot and non red dot. Officers
will discuss this with the red dots before doing so. There is concern that the firefighters
might take the captain seat just after the red dot is removed before they are completely
prepared to do so.

° The new firefighters will begin First Responder training on January 9th.

/ICA,/()I?
