CC Work Session 2. 1. <br />Meeting Date: 12/14/2021 <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Discussion Regarding Union Contract Negotiations with LELS-Patrol (Portions Closed to the Public) <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this discussion is to provide the City Council with an update on the status of negotiations with <br />LELS Patrol. <br />Per Minnesota Statutes 13D.03, which states: "The governing body of a public employer may by a majority vote in <br />a public meeting decide to hold a closed meeting to consider strategy for labor negotiations, including negotiation <br />strategies or developments or discussion and review of labor negotiation proposals, conducted pursuant to sections <br />179A.01 to 179A.25" staff is requesting that the City Council go into closed session to discuss the City's labor <br />negotiations strategy. <br />At the time of the work session, City staff will provide the City Council with detailed information regarding the <br />status of negotiations with LELS Patrol. In summary, as a result of Mediation that took place on Monday, <br />December 6, 2021, which included the following individuals: a Mediator from the Bureau Mediation Services, both <br />Union Stewards, the Patrol Business Agent, an LELS Attorney, Mayor Kuzma, City Administrator Ulrich, Deputy <br />City Administrator/Community Development Director Hagen, and Administrative Services Director Lasher, a <br />tentative agreement for a 3-year labor agreement has been reached on all open items within the LELS-Patrol union <br />contract. <br />Timeframe: <br />Up to 15 minutes. <br />Funding Source: <br />Not applicable at this time. <br />Responsible Party(ies): <br />Colleen Lasher, Administrative Services Director <br />Outcome: <br />For the City Council to agree, by consensus, to either: <br />1) concur with the terms of the tentative agreement as discussed this evening and direct staff to prepare the LELS <br />Patrol Contract for adoption on January 11, 2022; or <br />2) decline the terms of the tentative agreement and proceed based on discussion. <br />Statute <br />Attachments <br />Form Review <br />Inbox Reviewed By Date <br />Kurt Ulrich Kurt Ulrich 12/09/2021 11:08 AM <br />Form Started By: Colleen Lasher Started On: 12/06/2021 03:00 PM <br />
