SAFETY CONCERNS <br /> <br />SCBA mask use is being logged on larger calls, however, they need to be logged every time <br />they are used, including training. <br /> <br />· Make sure traffic laws are obeyed when coming to the station for a fire call. <br /> <br />There was discussion on PALS and what changes, if any, will be done with them. <br /> <br />FF I & 2 vs. ASSOCIATE DEGREE <br /> <br />· An Associate Degree in Fire Science is the equivalent to Fire Fighter One and Two, however, <br /> State Certification must still be passed. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE'S <br /> <br />STATION (42 <br /> <br />The Central Park location will not be available for a new station. The State Attorney <br />General's office has six case laws citing that a deed cannot be changed once deeded, even by <br />the owners. <br /> <br />· There is a piece of property across from there, that would not compromise the location. Next <br /> week Chief Kapler will meet with the land owner. <br /> <br />ENGINE #3 <br /> <br />· Will need a station first, however, the specs can be written. <br /> <br />Bob Simpson reported on the Anoka County Fire Protection Council meeting he and Tom Hoxter <br />attended in July. The October meeting will be hosted by the Ramsey Fire Department. <br /> <br />Bob Simpson reviewed the materials he looked through for Fire Prevention Week, October 4 - <br />10. He would like to receive more free videos to give to the daycare facilities to show before the <br />Fire Fighters visit, so the children are prepared for them. The materials will be in the fire office <br />alter the meeting for anyone to review and make recommendations. <br /> <br />FEMA has reimbursed the City $38,000 for storm damage sustained in the May 15, 1998 storm. <br /> <br />A new pop machine is set for delivery. It will be located in the front of the fire bay between the <br />two front doors. Dave Ameson will discard the old one. <br /> <br />Hepatitis B shots are still available at Mork Clinic.
