Y2K PREPAREDNESS <br /> <br />The City is looking for twelve fire fighters to work New Year's Eve and Day. A rig would <br />be stationed at three different places. Possible sites would be Central Park, Connexus Energy <br />and City Hall. <br /> <br />PERSONNEL ISSUES <br /> <br />Five fire fighter applicants will be interviewed on June 17th. There is a possibility of two <br />additional interviews. <br /> <br />The Department is not sure how many new fire fighters to 'bring on at this time. When <br />station 2 is completed at least thirty-five people will be needed and the Department currently <br />has twenty-eight. <br /> <br />COMMUNITY PICNIC RESULTS <br /> <br />The corn and melon sale fundraiser broke even. <br /> <br />Raffle ticket sale totals were: <br /> <br />118 Bike <br />164 Swing <br />63 tractor <br /> <br />The Department needs to sell 237 tractor tickets. Each fire fighter received five tickets to <br />sell. <br /> <br />Attendance was down this year, but it was a hot, fun day. <br /> <br />Next year the picnic should concentrate on older children and adults. <br /> <br />25TM ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION <br /> <br />Engine one will be used for a parade truck to lead the parade. <br /> <br />Tanker Two will be the judge's platform for the parade. <br /> <br />Some staff will be at Central Park during the tournament for medical emergencies. Chief <br />Kaplcr received many compliments of the fire fighters efforts at the Lions Picnic tournament. <br /> <br />o The balance of the fire vehicles will be off site for the day. <br /> <br />It was asked if help with traffic direction would be needed during the race.
