NEW FIREFIGHTER INFORMATION <br /> <br />Three new firefighters will start with the Department once the new turnout gear has arrived, <br />which should be in time for the October business meeting. <br /> <br />ILLEGAL BURN RESPONSE <br /> <br />Thc Department will try a company response to paged illegal bums beginning October 1st. <br /> <br />An ongoing evaluation will take place. A company response will continue throughout fourth <br />quarter unless attendance is not adequate, at which time an immediate return to full response <br />will occur. <br /> <br />ANOKA COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION COUNCIL UPDATE <br /> <br />Study of the current County radio coverage has been completed. It showed Ramsey as <br />having poor radio coverage. It would cost approximately three to four million dollars to <br />repair the current system and ten million dollars to replace it. It was noted that the Minitor <br />Ill has poorer coverage than the Minitor II. <br /> <br />· Thc Anoka County Fair Burn Trailer was successful. Only two departments staffed for a full <br /> day, Ramsey and Coon Rapids. <br /> <br />· When vaccines are developed for outbreaks of diseases and/or flu, a percent of the vaccine <br /> will be saved for public safety officials' use. <br /> <br />HAPPY DAYS CELEBRATION <br /> <br />· Ofticcr Weiss and Firefighter Streich will have Engine #1 and Tanker #1 at their homes <br /> during the festivities. If there is a call the trucks will be brought to the station. <br /> <br />· There will be an extrication demo during the afternoon. <br /> <br />ANOKA HALLOWEEN PARADE <br /> <br />· 'l'hc $40 registration fee will be paid by October 1st. <br /> <br />· Sec Fircfighter Smith if interested in attending. Engine #2 will be used. <br /> <br />SPECIAL RECOGNITION <br /> <br />· Firclighter Smith for his organization of the car wash fundraiser.
