(~ouncihnember Olson stated the parking situation was very bad in her neighborhood, which <br />includes a no parking zone. She stated the street should be posted next year, as people did not <br />seem to notice the existing signs. <br /> <br />Police Chief Way indicated more areas will be posted no parking next year, and more signs will <br />be needed. <br /> <br />('ity Administrator Norman requested direction from the Council on whether staff should press <br />to have lhc City of Anoka removed from the Game Fair theme. <br /> <br />Councihncmber Elvig stated one of the conditions of the conditional use permit for Game Fair <br />was to list the City of Ramsey and remove the City of Anoka from the Game Fair theme. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Kapler stated the City has escrowed money for clean up at Game Fair <br />over thc last two years. The City has not had to utilize any of the escrow, as the area has always <br />been cleaned up very well. <br /> <br />2) TIt 47 Improvements <br /> <br />(iity Administrator Norman indicated there have been concerns expressed regarding the <br />improvements in Anoka on Highway 47, with Pleasant Street consisting of a southbound turn <br />lane, rather than two lanes. <br /> <br />(;ouncihnember Elvig stated the flow of traffic has been restricted by the lanes being necked <br />down. A sequenced through left turn signal would be a reasonable approach to improve the <br />Ilow. <br /> <br />'lhc consensus of the Council was to direct staff to contact the City of Anoka Public Works <br />Director regarding the Itighway 47 Improvement Project, and to determine whether additional <br />improvements are planned. <br /> <br />Assi stan! Public Works Director Olson indicated additional information will be brought back to a <br />Council work session. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman announced there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new <br />flashing lights in front of Ramsey Elementary School. <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson announced there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony on <br />~lucsday, August 23rd at 5:00 p.m. for the Rhinestone Street Bridge opening. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session / August 23, 2005 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
