structural component of the building including, but not limited to, photovoltaic or hot water solar systems <br />contained within roofing materials, windows, skylights and awnings. <br />Building line means: <br />(1) The line measured across the width of the lot at the point where the principal structure is placed in <br />accordance with setback provisions; or <br />(2) A line parallel to a lot line or the ordinary high water level at the required setback beyond which a <br />structure may not extend. <br />Business means any establishment, occupation, employment or enterprise where merchandise is <br />manufactured, exhibited or sold, or where services are offered for compensation. <br />Business directory sign means a sign which identifies the names of the specific businesses located in a <br />shopping center or business or industrial park and which is located on the parcel of the center so identified. <br />Business incubator/multitenant facility means a commercial or industrial development consisting of two or <br />more separate units or suites sharing a common building and/or parking area. <br />Business sign means a sign relating in its subject matter to the parcel on which it is located, or to products, <br />accommodations, services or activities on the parcel on which it is located. <br />Butt lot means a lot at the end of a block and located between two corner lots. <br />Caliper means the diameter, in inches, of the trunk of a tree taken six inches above the ground up to and <br />including four -inch caliper size, and 12 inches above the ground for larger sizes. <br />Campground means an area accessible by vehicles and containing campsites or camping spots for tents and <br />trailer camping. <br />Canopy means a permanent roof -like structure of rigid materials. <br />Canopy coverage means the horizontal extension of a tree's branches in all directions from its trunk. <br />Carport means an automobile shelter open on one or more sides, and shall be considered an accessory <br />building. <br />Cellar means that portion of a building between floor and ceiling which is wholly or partly below grade and <br />so located that the vertical distance from grade to the floor below is equal to or greater than the vertical distance <br />from grade to ceiling. <br />Certified arborist means any person holding a valid and current arborist certification as issued by the <br />International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). <br />Certified forester means any person holding a valid and current forester certification as issued by the Society <br />of American Foresters (SAF). <br />CFR means the Code of Federal Regulations. <br />Church means a building, together with its accessory buildings and uses, where persons regularly assemble <br />for religious worship and which building, together with its accessory buildings and uses, is maintained and <br />controlled by a religious body organized to sustain public worship. <br />City plan means a compilation of policy statements, goals, standards and maps for guiding the physical, social <br />and economic development, both private and public, of the city and its environs. <br />City tree policy means a manual, developed and maintained by the city, which contains the standards and <br />specifications for sound arboricultural practices, techniques and procedures which shall be applicable to all public <br />trees in the city.
