<br />Motion by Councilmember Howell, seconded by Councilmember Musgrove, to introduce <br />Ordinance #22-03 Amending Chapter 10 of City Code: Animals. <br /> <br />A roll call vote was performed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Heineman aye <br />Councilmember Woestehoff aye <br />Councilmember Specht aye <br />Councilmember Musgrove aye <br />Councilmember Riley aye <br />Councilmember Howell aye <br />Mayor Kuzma aye <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br />7.02: Introduce Ordinance #22-04 Amending Section 117-349 of City Code to Allow <br />Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU’s) <br /> <br />Planning Technician McCann reviewed the staff report and recommendation to introduce <br />Ordinance #22-04 to allow accessory dwelling units in the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Councilmember Howell questioned the reason for allowing rentals but not home occupations. <br /> <br />Planning Technician McCann replied some of these are used to generate income for rentals but <br />there are separate standard requirements for a home occupation permit that would allow it in a <br />separate detached structure but not a living facility. <br /> <br />Councilmember Heineman asked if this will allow residents to create the secondary structures and <br />then rent them out through AirB&B, Vrbo, and such. <br /> <br />Planning Technician McCann confirmed this. <br /> <br />Planning Manager McGuire Brigl questioned if it was correct that the property owner would need <br />to live on the subject property in order to rent it out. <br /> <br />Planning Technician McCann confirmed this. <br /> <br />Councilmember Musgrove asked about parking and what happens if parking requirements are not <br />met. <br /> <br />Planning Technician McCann replied the resident could look into parking expansion or approval <br />from the Zoning Administrator for an increased number of vehicles allowed for the property. <br /> <br />Councilmember Musgrove commented that she liked the idea of these but if they are attached, she <br />felt it helps a single-family home look like a single-family home even though there is another <br />dwelling.
