Grants Available for the Replacement <br /> of Qualifying Water Controls <br /> METROPOLITAN <br /> C O U N C I L <br /> The City of Ramsey has grant funds available through the Water Efficiency Grant Program. <br /> Through this program, City of Ramsey water customers have an opportunity to replace existing, inef- <br /> ficient clothes washing machines with Energy Star labeled devices or irrigation controllers and toilets <br /> with WaterSense labeled devices and receive a rebate for the cost of the device or$200,whichever is less.' <br /> The goal of this program is to help conserve water and help you save money on your water bill.The <br /> City is able to offer this rebate program thanks to grant funding through the Metropolitan Council CLEAN <br /> and the Clean Water Land and Legacy Amendment.It is estimated that an Energy Star labeled clothes WATER <br /> washing machine could save approximately 3,000 gallons of water per year.A WaterSense labeled toilet LAND & <br /> LEGACY <br /> could save approximately 12,200 gallons of water per year and a WaterSense labeled irrigation smart AMENDMENT <br /> controller could save approximately 15,000 gallons of water per year.These improvements should save a <br /> significant amount of water and result in savings on a water utility bill! <br /> Eligibility criteria include: (1)must be a Ramsey water utility customer(on the City's water supply system); (2) the <br /> purchase must be replacing an existing device(s);new construction projects are not eligible for this grant funding); (3) <br /> the product must be an Energy Star labeled clothes washing machine or a US EPA WaterSense labeled toilet or,smart <br /> irrigation controller; and(4) device(s) must be purchased after May 1,2020 and before June 30,2022. Rebates are up to <br /> $200 or the cost of the device,whichever is less.Please note that a single household is eligible for up to$500.Installation <br /> costs and sales tax are the customer's responsibility. Rebates will be processed on a first-come,first-serve basis until the <br /> grant funds are exhausted or June 30, 2022,whichever occurs first.Rebates will be issued by check. <br /> More information,including the rebate application form,can be found by visiting www.cityoframsey.com/750.
