U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY <br /> Premium Pam <br /> The Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds may be used to provide premium pay to eligible <br /> workers performing essential work during the pandemic. Premium pay may be awarded to eligible <br /> workers up to$13 per hour. Premium pay must bein addition to wages or remuneration (i.e., <br /> compensation)the eligible worker otherwise receives. Premium pay may not exceed $25,000 for any <br /> single worker during the program. <br /> Recipients should undergo the following steps to provide premium pay to eligible workers. <br /> 1. Identify an "eligible"'worker. Eligible workers include workers "needed to maintain continuity <br /> of operations of essential critical infrastructure sectors."These sectors and occupations are <br /> eligible: <br /> / Health care State, local, or Tribal government <br /> `/ Emergency response workforce <br /> / Sanitation, disinfection &cleaning / Workers providing vital services to <br /> � Maintenance Tribes <br /> v~ Grocery stores, restaurants,food ~/ Educationa|, school nutrition, and other <br /> production, and food delivery work required to operate aschool <br /> / Pharmacy facility <br /> / Biomedical research `/ Laundry <br /> / Behavioral health `/ Elections <br /> / Medical testing and diagnostics ,' Solid waste or hazardous materials <br /> Home and community-based health care management, response, and cleanup <br /> or assistance with activities of daily living ~/ Work requiring physical interaction with <br /> Family or child care patients U <br /> i <br /> / Social services ~/ Dental care <br /> ~/ Public health ~/ Transportation and warehousing <br /> Mortuary V Hotel and commercial lodging facilities <br /> / Critical clinical research, development, that are used for COV1D'19mitigation <br /> and testing necessary for COV|D'19 and containment <br /> response <br /> Beyond this list,the chief executive (or equivalent) of a recipient government may designate <br /> additional non-public sectors as critical so long as doing so is necessary to protecting the health <br /> and wellbeing of the residents of such jurisdictions. <br /> 2 Verify that the eligible worker performs"essential work," meaning work that: <br /> • b not performed while te|evvorNng from a residence; and <br /> • Involves either: <br /> a. regular, in-person interactions with patients)the public, or coworkers of the <br /> individual that is performing the work; or <br /> b. regular physical handling of items that were handled by, or are to be handled by, <br /> patients,the public, or coworkers of the individual that is performing the work. <br /> CoronovirusJtate&Local Fiscal Recovery Funds:Overview uƒthe Final Rule <br /> U.S. Department mf the Treasury 35 <br />
