Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to enter into contract with <br />Chandra Kreyer to provide the City of Ramsey with Web Page design and maintenance services <br />and adopt a Resolution transferring $7,128 from the Council contingency fund to the budget of <br />data processing to fund updating of the City's web site. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he envisions a website that would <br />incorporate the features of GovDocs.com. He felt that making the decision was premature for <br />both Case #1 and Case #3. Councilmember Zimmerman inquired if they should be handling <br />Case #3 before Case #1. Councilmember Hendriksen stated that it was his professional opinion <br />that the GovDocs.com option was an extremely expensive solution for the services they provide. <br />He recommended that Case #1 and Case #3 be tabled to allow staffmore time to look at a more <br />comprehensive solution that would include web hosting on a commercial website which he felt <br />would cost a fraction of the costs being proposed. Councilmember Anderson inquired if there <br />were companies that provided both types of services. Councilmember Hendriksen explained <br />that GovDocs.com is nothing more than an archive system that can easily be handled witl~in the <br />website. Councilmember Anderson stated that staff has indicated that they are unable to find <br />anyone that could do both. Assistant City Administrator Moore-Sykes replied that staff has not <br />been able to find a company that does both. Councilmember Kurak inquired if the GovDocs.com <br />contract would be a yearly contract. Assistant City Administrator Moore-Sykes replied yes, but <br />noted that the City could cancel the contract with a 30-day notice. Councilmember Hendriksen <br />stated that the Council had chose not to enter into a contract with GovDocs.com based on his <br />recommendation, but no one from staff contacted to him as to what the alternatives might be. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec states there was a question on the floor. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if the Committee wanted to cease debate on the issue. <br /> <br />Councilmembers Anderson, Hendriksen, Kurak and Anderson voted no. Mayor Gamec voted <br />yes. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to forward <br />the Finance Committee cases to the Council. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Hendriksen, Zimmerman, <br />Anderson, and Kurak.
