From how -to sessions and profiles of specific case studies to exploring economic development programs with key
industry leaders, the three program tracks are sure to provide informative, thought - provoking topics.
The sessions will include such topics as foreign trade zones, bioscience and green industries and technology transfer. Also
included are key economic development strategies surrounding the use of community market studies and surveys, review of
proposals, making the most of your comprehensive plans, working effectively between the public and private sectors and a new
look at redevelopment tools. In addition, there are several sessions that focus on great case studies from all across the state
including the metro, northwest Minnesota and Duluth.
This year's keynote presentations will provide economic development perspectives from a national and state perspective. The
opening address will feature Minnesota DEED Commissioner Dan McElroy with a few words regarding the economic condition of
the state and how this may affect DEED programs. The closing session will include Bill Blazer from the Minnesota Chamber to
provide an update on the Grow Minnesota efforts across the state.
As we enter challenging economic times and a future with environment and social changes, we hope the EDAM Winter
Conference will provide ways to develop your mind!
25
