8 <br />Economic Development <br />Authority <br />2009 Scope and Work plan <br />City Code Outlines Purpose of EDA <br />Purpose: "The primary purpose of the Economic <br />Development Authority is to further the economic <br />development of Ramsey and vicinity; to aid, assist, <br />and promote the growth, expansion and <br />development of business and industrial concerns, <br />including small business concerns in said area and <br />thereby to contribute to the economic well -being <br />of the area as measured by increased employment, <br />payroll, business volume, tax base and <br />corresponding factors. The Economic Development <br />Authority shall: <br />Purpose continued <br />a. Review state legislation and local ordinances in <br />order to determine these regulations' impact of <br />local economic development. The Authority shall <br />advise the City Council of new legislation and <br />ordinances it would like to see adopted and /or <br />amendments to the same which it feels will <br />promote economic develo <br />b. business to learn concerns developers <br />receive their input as to how the economic climate <br />can be improved. The Authority shall call upon <br />and meet with elected and appointed state and <br />local officials along with other, appropriate <br />resources it deems necessary in order to <br />accomplish its purpose. <br />
