Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #22-058 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING ACQUISITION OF LAND REQUIRED FOR <br />RIVERDALE DRIVE CONSTRUCTION, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #20-05 <br />WHEREAS, existing Riverdale Drive between Sunfish Lake Boulevard and Armstrong <br />Boulevard functions as the south frontage road to U.S. Highway 10/169; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey proposes to extend Riverdale Drive between Llama <br />Street and Bowers Drive to extend the south frontage road system south of U.S. Highway 10/169 <br />to Bowers Drive; and <br />WHEREAS, this improvement project is consistent with the goals and objectives of the <br />Highway 10 Access Planning Study completed in 2014 in partnership between the Minnesota <br />Department of Transportation (MnDOT) and the Anoka County Highway Department, and <br />broadly supported by partnering agencies including the City of Anoka, City of Ramsey, Anoka <br />County, MnDOT, and the Metropolitan Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the City was awarded $612,000 in funding through MnDOT's fiscal year <br />2023 Metro Local Partnership Program for use in funding a portion of the costs to extend <br />Riverdale Drive between Llama Street and Bowers Drive, designated as Improvement Project <br />#20-05; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #21-185, adopted October 26, <br />2021, the cost share framework for this improvement project was approved including the use of <br />up to $950K in Anoka County Housing and Redevelopment Authority dollars towards the City's <br />contribution to construct the Riverdale Drive improvement project. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to purchase land from Anoka County <br />in the amount of $432,401.74 to facilitate construction of Riverdale Drive between <br />Llama Street and Bowers Drive, Improvement Project #20-05, on behalf of the City <br />of Ramsey. <br />2. This land purchase shall be funded using $303,632.49 from Anoka County Housing <br />and Redevelopment Authority dollars, and $128,769.25 from City of Ramsey <br />Stormwater Management Funds. <br />
