Councilmember Woestehoff introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION#22-040 <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING <br /> ADVERTISEMENTS FOR BIDS FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT#22-05,RIVERDALE <br /> DRIVE TRUNK UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS, LLAMA STREET TO BOWERS DRIVE <br /> WHEREAS, existing Riverdale Drive between Sunfish Lake Boulevard and Armstrong <br /> Boulevard functions as the south frontage road to U.S. Highway 10/169; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Ramsey proposes to extend Riverdale Drive between Llama Street <br /> and Bowers Drive to extend the south frontage road system south of U.S. Highway 10/169to <br /> Bowers Drive; and <br /> WHEREAS, this improvement project is consistent with the goals and objectives of the <br /> Highway 10 Access Planning Study completed in 2014 in partnership between the Minnesota <br /> Department of Transportation(MnDOT) and the Anoka County Highway Department, andbroadly <br /> supported by partnering agencies including the City of Anoka, City of Ramsey, Anoka County, <br /> MnDOT, and the Metropolitan Council; and <br /> WHEREAS,trunk utilities are proposed to be extended prior to the extension of Riverdale <br /> Drive to serve this area of the City with municipal utilities since the land is zoned as MUSA; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City has the capability to adequately fund these trunk utility <br /> improvements using utility enterprise funds; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City received a professional design services proposal from Bolton & <br /> Menk, Inc. to prepare final plans and specifications and administer bids for said improvements; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution 421-305 adopted October 26, <br /> 2021,the City Council accepted the design services proposal of Bolton&Menk, Inc. for providing <br /> engineering services required to develop final plans and specifications for the purpose of soliciting <br /> bids for the construction of Improvement Project 422-05; and <br /> WHEREAS, Bolton&Menk, Inc. has completed plans and specifications for the purpose <br /> of advertising for bids for the same improvements. <br />
