Councilmember Musgrove introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION#22-059 <br /> RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br /> IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #20-07, CONSTRUCTION OF NEW SALT STORAGE <br /> BUILDING AT 14199 JASPAR STREET <br /> WHEREAS,the City proposes to construct a new salt storage building at 14199 Jaspar St <br /> under City Improvement Project 420-07; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council action on July 131h 2021 the City Council <br /> accepted the design services proposal of Oertel Architects, Inc. for providingengineering services <br /> required to develop final plans and specifications for the purpose of soliciting bids for the <br /> construction of the salt storage building and <br /> WHEREAS, the Bids were advertised in the Anoka Union Herald on January 14th and 21st Bid <br /> information was also available on Oretel Architects website starting January 26th, as well <br /> as electronically through Quest CDN. <br /> WHEREAS, three (3)bids were received, opened, and tabulated on February 23rd, 2022, <br /> and the following bids were found to comply with the approved plans and specifications and <br /> advertisements for bids, and <br /> CONTRACTOR TOTAL BID <br /> A & B Construction $469,110.00 <br /> Gre stone Construction $564,595.00 <br /> VersaCon $570,000.00 <br /> WHEREAS, the bid of A & B Construction of Harper Iowa, in the amount of <br /> $469,110.00 for the total bid for construction of the improvement in accordance with the <br /> approvedplans and specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder and <br /> their bid shall be and hereby is accepted. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF RAMSEY,ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> 1) The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br /> contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvement for and on behalf of <br /> the City of Ramsey. <br /> 2) The City Administrator is hereby authorized to direct Oertel Architects, Inc. to return <br /> forthwith toaal bidders the bid bonds made with their bids at such time that a contract has <br /> been executed. <br />
