On September 24, 2001, at 10:00 a.m., bids were opened for both irrigation projects. Anderson <br />Irrigation gave the lowest responsible bid of $13,690 for Solstice Park and $31,400 for Rivers <br />Bend Park <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to recommend that the City <br />Council approve a 2001 Park improvement budget for Solstice Park of $45,000 and Rivers Bend <br />Park of $50,000 and award the Solstice Park and Rivers Bend Park irrigation projects to <br />Anderson Irrigation for $13,690 and to Rivers Bend Park for $31,400 respectfully. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated that the total budgeted amount for <br />both projects was $95,000 and requested that the Council not identify which project those funds <br />go to. Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if the $95,000 included or excluded the bids. <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos replied that the $95,000 included the bids. Councilmember <br />Zimmerman stated that at this point they would approve the bids and if there is additional work <br />that needs to be done then it should be brought back. Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos replied that <br />approving the bids fills their goal to get started, but noted that his request was in line with the <br />CIP. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Anderson, Hendriksen, Kurak, <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if the Committee wanted to award additional funds at this <br />time or bring the issue back. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that if there are additional expenses they should be brought <br />back. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos replied that if they could get a not to exceed budget so they could <br />move forward with Connexus, it would be beneficial. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that they need to know what they are spending the money on. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos replied that it would be beneficial to order the electrical work of <br />$2,000 for Solstice Park. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to recommend that the City <br />Council authorize up to $2,000 for the power connection at Solstice Park. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Anderson, Hendriksen, Kurak, <br />and Zimmerman.
