(2) Ground sign.There shall not be more than one ground sign for each parcel or per road frontage on <br /> parcels with more than one road frontage, not to exceed an aggregate of two ground signs.The gross <br /> surface area of a ground sign shall not exceed 100 square feet for each exposed face nor exceed an <br /> aggregate gross surface area of 200 square feet. For parcels qualifying for two ground signs,the second <br /> ground sign shall not exceed 50 square feet for each exposed face nor exceed an aggregate gross <br /> surface area of 100 square feet and may not exceed 12.5 feet in height as measure in section 117- <br /> 463(c) of this section. <br /> (3) Service bay identification signs. Service bay identification signs providing direction or instruction to <br /> persons using the facility and containing no advertising material of any kind shall be subject to the <br /> following: <br /> a. All service bay identification signs shall be wall signs. <br /> b. There shall not be more than one service bay identification sign for each service bay located on <br /> the parcel. <br /> C. A service bay identification sign may be located on the outermost wall of any principal building <br /> adjacent to a service bay entrance. <br /> d. A service bay identification sign shall not project higher than the parapet line of the wall to which <br /> the sign is to be affixed. <br /> (4) Fuel pump island identification sign. Fuel pump island identification signs indicating the type of service <br /> offered;the price of gasoline; and other relevant information,within reason, pertaining to the facility; <br /> or direction to persons using the facility shall be subject to the following:The gross surface area of a <br /> service island identification sign shall be counted against the maximum allowable sign area for the <br /> subject parcel. <br /> (5) Menu board. Menu board for drive-up or walk-up lane of a drive-in business are allowed up to a <br /> maximum of 50 square feet of total signage. Menu boards are allowed a message on one side only and <br /> cannot contain an advertising message. <br /> (6) Directional signs. <br /> a. Directional or instructional signs are permitted in accordance with section 117-463(I). <br /> b. Parking lot directional signs designating parking area entrances and exits are limited to one sign <br /> for each entrance and/or exit and shall not exceed four square feet for each exposed face. <br /> Parking lot directional signs shall not project higher than five feet in height,as measured from the <br /> established grade of the parking area to which such signs are accessory. <br /> C. Parking lot instructional signs designating the conditions of use or identifying parking areas shall <br /> not exceed eight square feet and shall not project higher than ten feet in height for wall signs and <br /> seven feet in height for ground signs,as measured from the established grade of the parking area <br /> to which such signs are accessory. <br /> d. Window signs are restricted to 30 percent of the area of the window in which the sign is to be <br /> displayed. <br /> (b) Shopping center signs. In accordance with section 117-54,the developer shall submit a sign plan for <br /> approval,drawn to scale with elevations,at the time application is made for site plan approval.The sign plan <br /> shall include but not be limited to the following information: number of signs,type of signs,sign sizes,type <br /> of construction materials,sign messages,and proposed sign locations. <br /> (c) Permitted freestanding signs under previous section 117-519(a) (business use signs),and located within the <br /> Armstrong Boulevard Interchange Overlay District as defined by this section,shall be allowed to a height of <br /> not more than 50 feet and an area of not greater than 150 square feet.Signs permitted under this section <br /> Created: 2021-07-01 14:42:48 [EST] <br /> (Supp. No. 10,Update 2) <br /> Page 12 of 15 <br />
