NOR TH METR O COMPANION ANIMAL CARE AND CONTROL STANDARD <br /> COMPANION ANIMAL AND IMPOUND SERVICES AGREEMENT <br /> THIS AGREEMENT made this 1st day of January 2022 by and between North Metro Animal <br /> Care and Control (NMACC) at 1662 164th Lane NW, Andover, MN 55304 hereinafter referred to <br /> as"Contractor",and the RAMSEY POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE CITY OF RAMSEY, <br /> Minnesota,hereinafter referred to as "Police Department and/or the City". <br /> WITNES SETH, that Contractor and City, for the consideration stated herein, mutually agree as <br /> follows: <br /> 1. STATEMENT OF WORK. Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, and services <br /> necessary to function as the designated impound facility for the RAMSEY POLICE <br /> DEPARTMENT and the CITY OF RAMSEY, as set forth below, in an efficient and <br /> workmanlike manner and in accordance with this Agreement. Contractor shall comply with <br /> all federal, state and local laws and ordinances in performing the duties as specified herein. <br /> 2. TERM. This Agreement shall commence on the 1st day of January 2022 and continue <br /> through December 31, 2022, unless otherwise terminated as provided herein. <br /> 3. CONTACTOR'S DUTIES. <br /> a) Upon the request of a member of the Ramsey Police Department, City <br /> Administration, or the City Clerk, Contractor shall take and accept for <br /> impoundment any companion animal found by any of the aforementioned <br /> individuals to be in violation of any City Ordinance or Minnesota State <br /> Statute. <br /> b) All such companion animals received by Contractor shall be treated <br /> humanely. <br /> c) The Contractor agrees to comply with all state and local laws regarding <br /> waiting periods. <br /> d) The Contractor shall be responsible for the advertisement and publication <br /> of notice for all companion animals received by Contractor. <br /> e) The Contractor shall, when requested, pick up companion animals from <br /> private residences between the hours of 8:OOAM to 10:PM, seven days a <br /> week at the request of the police department or the City. <br /> f) The Contractor shall provide access to its impound facility to members of <br /> the police department on a 24/7 basis. <br /> g) The Contractor shall be available to the police department on a 24/7 on-call <br /> basis. <br /> h) The Contractor shall be open to the public Monday-Friday 9:OOAM to 6:00 <br /> PM and Saturdays 9:00 AM to Noon. <br /> i) Any other duties as requested or directed by the City or the police <br /> department and deemed necessary to enforce of state statutes and local <br /> ordinances pertaining to the ownership companion animals and their <br /> welfare and to accomplish a law enforcement or public safety objective. <br />
