Meeting Date: 12/14/2021 Submitted For: Kurt Ulrich,Administrative Services By: Kathy Schmitz, Administrative Services Information Title: Review 2021 Legislative Outcomes and 2022 Legislative Priorities Purpose/Background: The purpose of this case is to review 2021 Legislative Outcomes and 2022 Legislative Priorities for the City of Ramsey. This case is to review the existing document and to provide feedback on 2021 legislative action and to discuss any desired additions/deletions to the City's 2022 legislative platform. The City's state representatives will be invited to a meeting in January to review our priorities. Time Frame/Observations/Alternatives: The City had mixed success in 2020 priorities: .Full funding for the US Highway 10 project in Ramsey was achieved. .The extension of the project deadline for Tax Increment Financing(TIF)District 14 (The COR)was approved •Adjustments to Fire Relief Association pertaining to dissolution of Joint Powers Agreement(JPA)with City of Nowthen were approved. •The sales tax exemption for the Public Works Campus was not approved. •The sales tax exemption and funding for a water treatment plant in Ramsey was not approved. Options for 2022 legislation include: . Sales Tax Exemption for the Water Treatment Facility • State Funding for Water Treatment Plant .Local Government Aid formula revision •Metro Mobility Service Area •Other matters of interest Funding Source: N/A Recommendation: Based on discussion. Outcome/Action: No action requested at this time. The purpose of this case is to provide an update and receive feedback on other priorities for consideration in 2022. A work session case will be brought forward in January to consider a 2022 legislative platform and to review it with our state representatives. Attachments 2021 Legislative Outcomes
