Highway 47 Improvement Project <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stated he has received several calls from residents that are not pleased <br />with the improvement project on Highway 47 going through Anoka. The Council has asked staff <br />to determine whether additional improvements will be coming forward. He suggested anyone <br />that is frustrated about Highway 47 to contact MnDOT or the City of Anoka. <br /> <br />Invitation to Council <br /> <br />Resident John Enstrom invited the City Council, and residents of the City of Ramsey and Anoka <br />County to the dedication of his project on September 4th. He announced there will be a flag <br />dedication and a singer for the national anthem. There will be several VFW legions present from <br />all over the Twin Cities and the State of Minnesota. There will be national speakers present, and <br />possibly a flyover from the Air Force. There will be two buses from the VA hospitals with <br />wounded Baghdad veterans and there will be a special dedication to those veterans with a silent <br />raffle for their benefit. There will 'be a tour of his property and refreshments will be served.~ This <br />will be a private event that is open to the public. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to adjourn the meeting. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the City Council adjourned at 9:37 p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />James E.
