¢ ;ouncil member introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #05-10- <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINDINGS, APPROVING A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />AMENDMENT TO CHANGE A LAND USE DESIGNATION FROM PLACES TO WORK <br />TO PLACES TO SHOP, AND AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF TO SUBMIT AN <br />APPLICATION TO THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL FOR AN AMENDMENT TO THE <br />CO!¥1PREHENSIVE PLAN <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on August 31, 2005, the City of Ramsey received an application from Larry <br />Smith (the "Property Owner") requesting an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan to change the <br />['~tture lmKt use designation from Places to Work to Places to Shop for the following legally described <br />pr~>pe~y: <br /> <br />That parr of` the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 27, Township 32, <br />Range 25, Anoka County, Minnesota described as follows, to-wit: Commencing at a <br />point on the west line of said Section which point is 209 feet north of the southwest comer <br />of' said Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter as measured along said west line; <br />thence proceeding east and parallel to the south line of said Section for a distance of 209 <br />~'cct; ~hencc proceeding north and parallel to the west line of said Section for a distance of <br />209 f'cet; thence proceeding west and parallel to the first course to the west line of said <br />Section; thence proceeding south along the west line of said Section to the point of <br />COI11131C 11C elllent. <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />That part of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 27, Township 32, <br />Range 25, Anoka County, Minnesota described as follows: Commencing at a point on the <br />west line of' said Section which point is 209 feet north of the southwest comer of said <br />Northwest of Northwest Quarter as measured along said west line; thence proceeding east <br />and parallel to the south line of said Section for a distance of 209 feet; thence proceeding <br />south and parallel to the west line of said Section for a distance of 209 feet thence <br />proceeding west and parallel to first course to the west line of said Section; thence <br />proceeding north along the west line of said Section to the point of commencement. <br /> <br />(The Subject Property) <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan approved in 200t shows the Subject Property <br />designated [and use as Places to Work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the property owners are requesting that the Subject Property designated land use <br />be changed to Places to Shop; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the development occurring in the vicinity of the Subject Property consists of <br />and medium density residential, and Ramsey Town Center; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, development of the Subject Property with commercial versus industrial uses <br />wt~uld compliment the residentiai and town center uses currently being developed in the vicinity; and <br /> <br />71 <br /> <br /> <br />
