Minnesota Waste Success Story -
Adrenaline Sports Center
Adrenaline Sports Center is a cutting-edge sports complex
that serves the sporting community in Ramsey. Because of this,
Adrenaline Sports Center goes through its share of water and MinnesotahTE f Comm r«
P g g WASTEWISE
sports drink bottles. Previously, these items were going into the
trash, but Jason Jacob, owner of the center, decided he wanted to make a change
to make sure they got recycled.Jason walked through the entire complex with
Waste Wise and together figured out a plan to improve the collection of recycling
-namely pairing new trash and recycling bins throughout to make recycling as easy
1► and accessible as throwing something away.Using Anoka County's business recy-
cling grant program,Jason was able to outfit the entire facility with blue recycling
bins and black trash containers.
M
Despite COVID-19 changing its regular business and capacity,Adrenaline
Sports Center saw a quick improvement.Jason cited that making changes to the
' signage also helped bring attention to the new bins and made sure recycling ended
up in the right place.By implementing these changes,Adrenaline Sports Center
has greatly reduced their waste and are now on track to recycle about 21,684
k pounds of material per year! Ultimately,Jason has been pleased with the changes.
He has appreciated being able to offer recycling to patrons and guests at their regu-
lar sports leagues and camps and at the 20+annual events they host.
Highlights 21,684 pounds of recycling annually
