Councilmcmbcr Elvig introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION/405-08-284 RES()I,UTION AUTHORIZING STAFF TO PROCEED WITH THE PROCESS OF MOVING AND RENOVATING THE OLD TOWN HALL TO A PARK WITHIN THE TOWN CENTER WllEREAS, Landmark Bank expressed an interest in utilizing the Old Town Hall for additional office space and provided a proposal to the City for consideration; and WltEREAS, City Council consensus was that the Old Town Hall in an important historic asset I~or the City and should be enjoyed by all of the citizens of Ramsey for a place to gather; WItEREAS, the current location of Old Town Hall, surrounded by commercial buildings, does not provide adequate access or parking for the Old Town Hall; and WItEREAS, the interior renovations initiated in the late 1990's were never completed, making thc building unable to be occupied at this time; and WI IEREAS, City Council directed staff to obtain cost proposals for the completion of thc renovations and moving the Old Town Hall to a park within the Town Center as well as the costs o t' upgrading the street serving the site if the building were to remain at its existing site. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSI~V, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 'l'hat thc City Council of the City of Ramsey authorizes staff to proceed with the process moving and renovating the Old Town Hall to a park with the Town Center. That thc City Council of the City of Ramsey authorizes staff to begin discussions with the ad. iacent land owners regarding the potential sale of the land. ~I'hc motitm for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember ('.ook, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec Councihnember Elvig Councilmember Cook Councihnember Jeffrey Councihnember Olson Councihnember Pearson Councihnember Strommen
