The City of Ramsey is also hiring for the following Temporary Summer Staff and Internships: <br />• Parks Maintenance Worker (Temporary up to 7-Months). The City is seeking one <br />individual to assist our Parks staff with general maintenance of City -owned parks and trail <br />systems. This is a temporary full-time AFSCME union position which will last up to 7- <br />months. Responsibilities include all aspects of parks maintenance, construction of new <br />facilities and the operation of equipment while working in a variety of weather conditions. <br />This individual also assists staff with several City events. All candidates must be at least <br />18 years old or older and possess a valid MN commercial driver's license (Class A or B) <br />with both air brake & tanker endorsements. This is a temporary full-time AFSCME union <br />position, subject to DOT random drug and alcohol testing. This will not lead to regular <br />employment at the conclusion of the season. The 2022 wage is $19.511/hour. Deadline to <br />apply has been changed to open until filled Apply immediately if interested <br />• Seasonal Maintenance Workers: The City is seeking a number of individuals to work <br />alongside of our Public Works staff with the general maintenance of streets, park grounds, <br />trails, buildings, and related facilities and equipment. These are temporary, non -union <br />positions working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. <br />All applicants must be at least 17 by June 1, 2022. The wage is $13.00 to $15.00 per hour, <br />depending on qualifications. Application period is open until all 11 positions have been <br />filled, however first interviews will start the week of March 21, 2022. We had a total of 163 participants for this event, and cleaned up 10 <br />parks and 7 City streets! <br />• Floral Arrangement Workshop <br />o Spend the evening learning how to create floral arrangements for your own <br />enjoyment and use. After this class is over, you will have a beautiful floral <br />arrangement to take home. This arrangement would make a great Mother's Day <br />gift! The workshop will be held on Thursday, May 5, from 6:30 — 8:OOpm at <br />Ramsey City Hall in the Alexander Ramsey Room. <br />• Geocaching with Dogs <br />o Learn how you can go treasure hunting with your dog! Geocaching is a great <br />opportunity to get out into nature, exercise your dog, and do some exploring! In <br />this beginner class, we will learn how to use GPS technology to help us find caches. <br />Geocaching is great for people and dogs of all ages and abilities.
