CC Work Session 2. 1. <br /> Meeting Date: 09/08/2020 <br /> Information <br /> Title: <br /> Discussion Regarding Union Contract Negotiations for AFSCME, LELS-Patrol,LELS-Sergeants & <br /> LELS-Captains (Discussion Closed to the Public) <br /> Please Note: This case was moved from Case 2.4 to Case 2.1 <br /> Purpose/Background: <br /> The purpose of this discussion is to provide the City Council with an update on the status of negotiations and to <br /> receive feedback for staff to negotiate with each group. (Note,this agenda item was scheduled for the last work <br /> session,but has been rescheduled to this evening due to previous time constraints.) Staff will also provide the City <br /> Council with information on the process of negotiating union contracts. <br /> Per Minnesota Statutes 13D.03,which states: "The governing body of a public employer may by a majority vote in <br /> a public meeting decide to hold a closed meeting to consider strategy for labor negotiations, including negotiation <br /> strategies or developments or discussion and review of labor negotiation proposals, conducted pursuant to sections <br /> 179A.01 to 179A.25" staff is requesting that the City Council go into closed session to discuss the City's labor <br /> negotiations strategy for its four union contracts.
