(:, mn cilmember Strommen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #05-09-324 <br /> <br />RES()I,IJTION Al)OPTING ASSESSMENTS FOR PAST-DUE CHARGES ON <br />M IINICII'AL UTILITY BILLS (WHICH MAY INCLUDE WATER, SEWER, STREET <br />Lt~(;ilTING, RECYCLING, STORM WATER CHARGES AND PENALTIES <br />I I~ICUI/REI)) AND CURRENT SERVICES RENDERED <br /> <br /> WItEREAS, pursuant to proper notice duly given as required by law, the Ramsey City <br />(~otmcil has met and heard and passed upon all objections to the proposed assessment for past- <br />duc charges on municipal utility bills and through invoices. <br /> <br />NOW 'IHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />~l'hat such proposed assessment, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part <br />hereof, is hereby accepted and shall constitute the special assessment against the lands <br />named therein, and each tract of land therein included is hereby found to be benefited by <br />thc services in the amount of the assessment levied against it. <br /> <br />That such assessment shall be payable in annual installments extending over a period of <br />one year, to be payable with the first tax rolls of 2006, and shall bear interest at the rate of <br />6.00 percent from the date of adoption of this assessment resolution to December 31, <br />2006. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />Yhat the owner of any property so assessed may, at any time prior to certification of the <br />ttsscssment to the Anoka County Auditor, pay the whole of the assessment on such <br />property, with interest accrued to the date of payment, to the City Finance Department, <br />except that no interest will be charged if the entire assessment is paid within 30 days from <br />thc adoption of this resolution. <br /> <br />'l'hat a certified duplicate of this assessment be transmitted to the Anoka County Auditor's <br />(~lIice to bc extended on the property tax lists of the County and such assessments shall <br />bc collected and paid in the same manner as other municipal taxes. <br /> <br />Thc motion for thc adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Cook and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Cotmcilmember Strommen <br />(~otmcilmcmber Cook <br />Councihnember Elvig <br />Councihnember Olson <br />(~ouncilmember Strommen <br /> <br /> <br />
