The Spring Recycling Day event will be on Saturday, May 7, from <br /> 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Ramsey Public Works facility (14199 Jaspar St NW). This is an <br /> opportunity for residents to properly dispose of a number of materials that are not accepted in the <br /> curbside recycling program. The following materials will be accepted at the Spring Recycling Day <br /> event: Appliances, electronics, tires, fluorescent bulbs, batteries, oil, oil filters, antifreeze, <br /> mattresses, box springs, scrap metal, standard curbside materials (e.g. cardboard, aluminum, steel <br /> and tin cans, newspaper,plastic bottles,tubs and lids 1 gallon or less in size, glass jars and bottles) <br /> and document destruction (limit of up to 3 boxes of documents). The City of Ramsey is gathering <br /> sponsorships as part of its Adopt-a-Flag program. The Adopt-a-Flag Program calls for community <br /> partners —both in the business and residential community —to sponsor a flag that will be affixed <br /> to a light pole along Sunwood Drive. A Friends-of-the-Flag Level Sponsorship is $50 and a Patriot <br /> Level Sponsorship is $500. This covers the cost of supplies as well as an engraved plaque which <br /> will be on display at Ramsey City Hall. Patriot Sponsors will also have an engraved nameplate <br /> affixed to the light pole. Adopting a flag can also serve as a symbol to honor the memory of a <br />
