Bids were also advertised on-line on Quest CDN. <br /> Letters will be mailed to property owners with updates on the project status. Engineering Staff maintains a project <br /> webpage, which will be updated as new information is made available throughout the project. <br /> Time Frame/Observations/Alternatives: <br /> Alternative#1 —Motion to adopt Resolution#22-104 accepting bids and awarding a construction contract for Wood <br /> Pond Hills 2nd—5 th Street Reconstructions, Improvement Project#22-06,to North Valley, Inc. for the bid in the <br /> amount of$568,135.15. <br /> Alternative#2—Motion to deny adoption of Resolution#22-104 at this time. <br /> Funding Source: <br /> Bids were advertised in the Anoka Union Herald and in Finance and Commerce on April 1 and April 8, 2022. On <br /> May 2, 2022 a total of five (5)bids were received, opened, and tabulated, and the following four(4)bids were <br /> found to comply with the advertisement for bids. <br /> CONTRACTOR TOTAL BID <br /> North Valley, Inc. $568,135.15 <br /> Northwest $628,243.00 <br /> Asphalt Surface Technologies Corp. $637,047.92 <br /> Park Construction Company 1$6971471.73 <br /> Engineer's Estimate $5061368.01 <br /> The bid of North Valley, Inc. of Nowthen, Minnesota, in the amount of$568,135.15 for the total bid for <br /> construction of said improvements in accordance with the approved plans and specifications and advertisement for <br /> bids, is the lowest responsible bid. Adding indirect costs for administrative, engineering, finance and legal costs in <br /> the amount of 23-percent brings total project costs to $698,806.25. <br /> Per the final plans and specifications, estimated construction costs were $506,368.01. After adding 23-percent <br /> indirect costs, estimated project costs total $622,832.66. <br /> The low bid is 12-percent more than the engineer's estimate,primarily due to higher than estimated bituminous <br /> pavement and aggregate base construction costs. <br /> Funding for this improvement is proposed to come from Pavement Management Funds, Stormwater Funds, Sanitary <br /> Sewer Funds, and Water Funds.
