North Metro Animal Care and Control <br /> to -���- <br /> 1662164 Lane NW -, <br /> Andover, MN 55304 <br /> 7+63-434-733 2 Ext. 1 <br /> Ramsey Police Department <br /> Chief Jeff Katers <br /> RE: Discontinuation of Services <br /> Dear Chief Katers, <br /> As you know, North Metro Animal Care and Control (NMACC) has been providing Animal Control <br /> and Impound Services to the City of Ramsey for the past few years. <br /> It is with deep regret that we must inform you that we are closing and will no longer providing <br /> animal control or impound services. <br /> This has been precipitated by many factors, including on-going staffing challenges in hiring and <br /> retention, rising costs and other problems associated with the Covid-19 pandemic. North Metro Animal <br /> Care and Control can no longer provide services at a level that provides for the responsiveness, care, and <br /> follow-through that your community deserves and has come to expect from us. <br /> Therefore, effective June 11, 2022, North Metro Animal Care and Control will no longer be <br /> providing Animal Control and Impound Services for the City of Ramsey. <br /> North Metro Animal Care and Control intends to continue services until June 1, 2022, to allow <br /> for time for you to make other arrangements as you see fit. <br /> If you can arrange for other services prior to June 1, 2022, please let me know as soon as <br /> practicable. <br /> would recommend that the city work with Anoka County toward creating a Countywide Animal <br /> Control program that will integrate Animal Services within the framework of existing public safety <br /> services. <br /> As the County becomes more populated, I believe it would serve the interests of the animals and <br /> the public best to have a dedicated animal control program under centralized administration and <br /> supervision rather than hiring individual contractors. <br /> It has been a pleasure to have been able to serve the needs of the Ramsey Police Department and <br /> its Officers. <br /> If there are questions or concerns, please contact me directly at 763-269-1102. <br /> Since,Ily/ <br /> Mar, An.' son <br /> Director, <br /> North Metro Animal Care and Control <br />
