COttllCi lmember Cook introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #05-08-286 <br /> <br />i.~i,;SOI.UTION AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF TRAIL AND BRIDGE <br />(~'()NNI,;CTING EI.MCREST PARK TO THE EXISTING TRAIL SYSTEM <br /> <br />\VlllgI~,EAS, Elmcrest Park is a Community Park as well as a neighborhood resource; <br /> <br />Wl ll4;REAS, pedestrians and motorists alike benefit from the safety of trail connections <br /> community; and <br /> <br /> WIIEI~EAS, a trail connecting Elmcrest to the rest of the City provides recreation and <br />l~'atml,Ortation value; and <br /> <br /> WIIEREAS, the Park and Recreation Commission has recommended a $65,000 <br />~tllocation fi'om the Park Trust Fund to construct a 10' foot bituminous trail and bridge from <br />I.;l~ncrcst I'ark, south to the existing trail; and <br /> <br />WIIEREAS, the City Council has detailed a $65,000 project within the 2005 Capital <br /> Program lbr trail connection to Elmcrest Park. <br /> <br />NOW 'I'ilI,;REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />IC,.\5"ISI';Y, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />That, thc City Council authorizes staff to receive applicable quotations and proceed with the <br />construction oF a trail and attendant bridge; to cmmect Elmcrest Park to the neighborhoods to <br />thc .south o£the park on the west side of St. Francis Boulevard. <br /> <br />~l'hc motion lot' adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />()lson, :mci upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />(:ouncilmember Olson <br />(2)unci hnember Cook <br />(~ouncilmcmber Elvig <br />(:ouncihnember Jeffi'ey <br />(?ouncihnember Pearson <br />(~ouncilmember Strommen <br /> <br />and the [blloxving voted against the same: <br /> <br />IIOllC <br /> <br />the Ibllowing abstained: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #-05-08-286 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
