CASE # <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION OF 2006 SCHEDULE OF RATES, FEES AND CHARGES AND CALL <br />FOR A PUBLIC HEARING <br /> By: Diana Lurid, Finance Officer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />EiYective June 30, 1991, Ordinance #91-08 amended S7.01.10 of the City Code to allow the City <br />Com~cil to annually set fees. _ <br /> <br />The City is allowed to annually adopt the schedule of Rates, Fees and Charges by Resolution, <br />but the City has chosen to adopt its entire schedule by ordinance. Ordinance adoption provides <br />the opportunity for comments at a Public Heating and gives adequate time (30 days) before the <br />rates ~o into effect. <br /> <br />Attached is the Schedule of Rates, Fees and Charges which includes the adopted 2005 and the <br />changes for which the proposed 2006 schedule is arrived at. <br /> <br />2'he above rate increases take into effect staff recommendations, indUStry standards, rates charged <br />by neighboring cities, and annual increases based on inflation. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Introduce Ordinance #05-XX- 2006 Schedule of Rates, Fees and Charges and calling for a Public <br />[4eafing on November 7, 2005. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to introduce Ordinance #05-XX - 2006 Schedule of Rates, Fees and Charges and calling <br />for a public hearing. <br /> <br />Reviewed By: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />Finance Officer <br /> <br />CC: 10/25/{)5 <br /> <br />1 <br />-147- <br /> <br /> <br />
