tt it <br /> <br />PC CASE <br /> <br />CONSIDER AUTHORIZING CONTRACT FOR ORGANIZATIONAL STUDY <br /> <br />Givonna Reed, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />A.t the May 3, 2005 Work Session staff requested authorization to explore the possibility of <br />conducting an organizational study later this year. The purpose of the organizational study is two- <br />fold: to define the ideal service delivery model for Ramsey.given the anticipated changes in <br />population and demographics and to determine the organizational structure needed to implement <br />and maintain Ramsey's ideal service delivery model. On July 12, 2005, the City Council granted <br />authorization to prepare a Request for Proposals (RFP) for an organizational study. <br /> <br />An RFP was prepared and staffreceived three.proposals. Following the review of the proposals, <br />two consulting firms, SpfingstecL, Inc. and Virchow Krause, were interviewed by the City <br />Administrator, the Assistant City Administrator and the Human Resources Manager. The interview <br />committee is recommending that the City Council authorize a contract with Springsted, Inc. to <br />conduct an organizational study for the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />As this study will involve all departments, taffrecommends that the cost of the study, a maximum <br />of $45,000, be prorated to each department. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation <br /> <br />Staff recommends that authorization be gran[ed to enter knto a contract with Springsted, <br />Inc. to conduct an organizational study for the City of Ramsey at a cost not to exceed <br />$45.000. <br /> <br />Cmnmittee Action: <br /> <br />Motion tO recommend that the City Council adopt a resOlution granting authorization to <br />enter into a contract with Sprinsted, Inc. to conduct an organizational study for the City <br />of Ramsey at a cost not to exceed $45,000. <br /> <br />PC: 1.0-25-05 <br /> <br />(i:\/uimmistralion\HulnanResources\Org Chart-Org Structure\Organizational Study 200gauth contract w Sprinsted 10-25-05.doc <br /> <br />-331- <br /> <br /> <br />
