Board Member Bentz stated that the docket was still unknown. He stated that he personally <br />hasn't sccn anything coming up on the agenda. He stated he would like to know what's coming <br />next. <br /> <br />(;hairpcrson McDiida stated that there was a lot coming up. He stated that as far as what's <br />coming next, ho felt there should be discussion about what the EPB potentially has in the future. <br /> <br />(';ouncil Member Strommen stated that she felt people are aware that the City is doing an update <br />on thc comprehensive plan. She stated that the City has been looking at the greenways for the <br />co~nprchcnsive plan. She stated that the mapping is going to need a policy to go with it. She <br />stated that there was some discussion at the City Council that it makes sense for the EPB to <br />weigh in on those issues in a comprehensive plan. She stated that staff needs to work out, how <br />that will work and bring it to the EPB. She stated that it has been discussed, but somehow the <br />15I'!3 neccls to tie into it, because there are a lot of environmental issues. <br /> <br />(ihai rpcrson McDilda stated that there was a need to review the tree ordinance. <br /> <br />lloard Member Max stated that he felt that reviewing the tree ordinance was not the only issue <br />l'acing thc EPI3. Environmental Specialist Bruce Bacon concurred but added that he felt <br />education might be something the EPB could address. <br /> <br />(Shairpcrson McDilda stated since there were unknowns, that maybe the best thing to do would <br />be to concur to tneet once a month for the remainder of this calendar year, then have another <br />election. IIe stated that there should be some planning to determine what tasks are ahead for the <br />I,;PB. He noted that in the following year, there may be some requests from the City Council. <br />Itc stated that there should be another annual plan similar to what was done before. He stated <br />that he felt the EPB should meet monthly until the January meeting, at which time this will be <br />brought back again. <br /> <br />Council Mcmber Strommen stated that she felt that one of the last meetings of the year should be <br />at work session lo develop a work plan for the EPB, so that the new members are ready to go in <br />January. Council Member Bentz asked if there would be any concurrent projects. <br /> <br />l~oard Member Max stated that as a task force, they were asked to do a tree preservation <br />ordinance and wetland protection ordinance, He stated that now that that there is an established <br />board, thc whole personality of the EPB is beginning to change. <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda stated that if the need for multiple meetings per month arises, that he, or <br />wl]ocvcr is Chairperson, will need to consult with Sylvia Frolik and Jim Norman, to inquire <br />about additional Funding that would facilitate the increased number of meetings. He stated that <br />i-i~.h/ now, the way things sit, he concurred with Board Member Bentz that he had a valid <br />coaccm. ! lc stated that if there was a need to meet more frequently, the City may need to find <br />I'unding I~)r that. <br /> <br />I~oard Mc~nber Bentz stated that if the EPB does go to one meeting a month, there should be a <br />plm~ l~r future meetings. <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda stated that as a task force the EPTF was limited on what could be <br />accomplished in a two hour window.
